Target Audience
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of oncologists and other medical professionals who assess and treat patients with renal cancer.
Educational Objectives
Following participation in this CME activity, participants should be able to:
- Review important aspects of renal cancer genetics and biology as they relate to prognosis and therapy
- Assess current and potential future roles of primary adjuvant, immunotherapeutic and targeted agents in renal cancer
- Assess recent advances in monitoring targeted therapies
Educational Need
Several important new technologies and therapies are currently in development for renal cancer, and a great deal of new clinical information is becoming available, with potentially significant implications for disease management. There is a clear need for oncologists and other medical professionals who assess and treat patients with renal cancer to be aware of recent advances and recommendations for the field including: new ways biology is informing approaches to prognosis and therapy; staging and prognostic classification; available and emerging therapies; and recommendations for advancing clinical research.
