
Recent Advances and Future Directions in Endocrine Manipulation of Breast Cancer
Second Cambridge Conference - June 2002
This program was based on a conference of multidisciplinary leaders in breast cancer research and clinical care. The focus of the program was on basic and clinical research related to new endocrine agents.
This educational program was directed by Aman U. Buzdar, MD, MD Anderson Cancer Center and Steven E. Come, MD, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Educational Objectives
1) Discuss the mechanisms of action and drug efficacy for currently approved and development-stage therapies and their relevance to patient care; 2) evaluate appropriate candidates for endocrine therapies; 3) Ooptimize the use and sequence of these therapies to manage various stages of disease; and 4) Discuss directions for future clinical research in endocrine therapy.
