
Innovations and Challenges in Renal Cancer
First Cambridge Conference - March 2004
This multidisciplinary educational forum was directed by Dr. Michael B. Atkins, Leader, Renal Cancer Program, Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center and Deputy Chief, Division of Hematology-Oncology, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
The educational objectives for the program were to: review important aspects of renal cancer genetics biology, especially as they relate to early detection and therapy; discuss recent advances in prognostic classification of renal cancer, especially as these might relate to treatment selection; assess the roles of local therapy, immunotherapy, antiangiogenic therapy and molecularly-targeted agents in the current treatment of renal cancer; and assess recent advances in supportive care. The program was supported by educational grants from industry. Program management and CME sponsorship were provided by InforMEDical.
The conference proceedings were published as a peer-reviewed CME supplement to Clinical Cancer Research Vol 10. No 18 (Part 2). Sept 15 2004.
