
Novel Agents in the Treatment of Lung Cancer
First Cambridge Conference - October 2003
This program was based on a conference of multidisciplinary leaders in lung cancer research and clinical care. The program developed content for a peer reviewed educational journal publication for medical oncologists and pulmonary specialists who wish to learn more about novel approaches to the treatment of lung cancer..
The program was directed by Thomas J. Lynch, Jr., MD , Chief, Hematology/Oncology, Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.
Educational Objectives
1) Review important aspects of lung cancer biology as they pertain to novel treatments. 2) Discuss the rationale for identifying a target as therapeutically important. 3) Appreciate the role of molecularly targeted agents in the current treatment of advanced lung cancer. 4) Assess the ongoing trials using these agents and the impact that such studies may have on future patient care.
