Statement of Need
Our understanding of renal cancer biology has accelerated over the past two years, fueled by new information on existing therapies, the application of new technologies and the clinical evaluation of a variety of novel agents. Together, these advances are contributing to a wave of innovations in detecting, evaluating and treating renal cancer and its complications. Several important new technologies and therapies are currently in development, and a great deal of new clinical information is becoming available, with potentially significant implications for disease management.
