This educational monograph was developed for urologists and oncologists who assess and treat patients with prostate cancer.

Educational Objectives
1) Describe measures for evaluating patients with a rising PSA on first-line hormonal therapy to assess whether they may have metastatic disease and/or require second-line therapy; 2) assess current and near-term therapeutic options for treating patients with hormone refractory disease and list four national clinical trials currently enrolling patients with hormone refractory disease; and 3) list at least one internet site where physicians and patients can find current information on clinical trials.
