This program was based on a multidisciplinary conference of leaders in bladder cancer research and clinical care. The focus of the program was to convene a meeting of 10 nationally recognized multidisciplinary leaders in bladder cancer research and treatment to share recent data, identify significant gaps in current knowledge and develop recommendations for advancing the field, and communicate this information to the larger medical community focusing specifically on neoadjuvant chemotherapy in invasive disease and treatment of high-risk superficial disease

Educational Need
Physicians who manage and counsel patients with bladder cancer need to assess and integrate into their practice of treatment and patient counseling: (a) the current framework for assessing appropriate use of systemic chemotherapy for muscle-invasive disease and (b) optimal approaches to treating superficial bladder, particularly for BCG-resistant disease.
